Ever since its inception back in 2006, the Apache RTR 160 received only a few minor changes to help keep it relevant. The latest one was the introduction of single-channel ABS. It is available in both rear drum as well as the rear disc variant.
Powering it is a 159.7cc air-cooled engine which produces 15.12PS at 8000rpm and 13.03Nm at 6500rpm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. TVS has equipped the RTR 160 with a double-cradle frame with telescopic forks and twin gas-charged shock absorbers. Braking duties are handled by a 270mm petal disc at the front and a 130mm drum unit at the back (optional 200mm rear petal disc).
